The main objectives of The Southern African Anti-Corruption Network (SAACoN) are to achieve a corruption free and prosperous SADC region. Southern Africa block seeks to achieve economic development, peace and security, and growth, alleviate poverty, enhance the standard and quality of life of the peoples of Southern Africa.
The SADC region has been able to set up legal, policy and institutional frameworks and arrangements. Most notable are the SADC Protocol against Corruption, the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), the African Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC), the AU Advisory Board on Corruption (AUBC), and the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG) among others. Furthermore, SADC Member States have put in place legal, policy and institutional arrangements to combat corruption. Again, these are not working as expected and hence the epidemic nature of corruption in the region.
The objectives of SAACoN
Premised on the SADC Treaty, the objectives of SAACoN are:
- To put in place effective co-ordination mechanisms and establish linkages and synergies to combat corruption. This includes synergies with those in the network and external organizations;

- To provide a one stop shop for all anti-corruption related research material for SAACoN Network and general public;
